The Bible tells us to work out our own salvation, with fear and trembling. For it is God who is at work within us both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
We live in a day wherein working out is a vital part of our lives, and we thank God for this wonderful aspect of life.
Bodily exercise is profitable, no doubt. Actually, the very scriptures tell us so. But exercising your human spirit is much more profitable, having promise of the life that now is, and that which is to come. You can gain more out of life by exercising your human spirit with the written Word of God.
The Word of God has got so much to teach us, only we must be teachable and not bring our own preconceived ideas to make the Word match them. We cannot tell God how to run His Kingdom.
We must be careful that our definitions of words and concepts do not try to dominate the definitions of God Almighty.
As for God, He has His own definitions of certain concepts, and we must be careful not to replace His definitions with our own. A classic example I've seen many times is this: On one hand, you find a child of God who eats meat, and on the other you find another child of God who is a vegetarian. We automatically assume that the child of God who is a vegetarian is much more anointed and disciplined as compared to the one who actually does eat meat. But the Bible tells us that
"another brother WHO IS WEAK eateth herbs."
Another example of different definitions is this: We think a stingy person is the one who refuses to give out anything, but the Bible tells us that a stingy person actually does give out but then goes on to calculate the cost!
I mentioned all that stuff about definitions to say this; If you find out from the Bible that you are anointed, you better start acting anointed and doing the things that anointed people do.
If the Bible tells you that believers will lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover, then you ask yourself the question "are you a believer?" if yes, then you have a right to lay your hands on the sick and God has a responsibility to see to it that they recover, for He will not shame His own Word.
