The Holy Spirit

The Greatest Person on the earth today, The Great Holy Spirit of God. He is God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a Person, which means He is a personality. It is actually a matter of ignorance when you hear people calling Him a thing, making statements. “When we pray, God sends us the Holy Spirit, and it comes down like a dove!” Unseen yet very present. He is both where you are and where Iam. He is the Power of God. He it is who beautified the heavens. It is impossible to describe Him in totality, but we will talk about His Person in thischapter. Who is He? He is God the Holy Spirit. To better understand His Personality we have to look at Jesus. The Lord Jesus, when He talked about the Holy Spirit, He called Him “ALLOS PARAKLETOS” meaning ANOTHER ONE OF THE SAME KIND AS ME. _ “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever;” John14:16 _ This is what these words are in their original setting here, ‘another comforter’, it means another one of the same kind. This means that the Holy Spirit is exactly like Jesus. Jesus is God the Son; The Holy Spirit is God the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is not His Name. In fact the Holy Spirit is so much of the same kind as Jesus, that His Name is Jesus! You see, we talk about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. When the Bible talks about how the Lord Jesus got His Name itssays He obtained it BY INHERITANCE; _ “Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” - Hebrews 1:4 _ So we understand that if He inherited the Name, then it must belong to the Father, who gave it to His Son as an inheritance. When Jesus told us to baptize He said; _ “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost;” Matthew 28:19 _ You must understand that this Name He is talking about here is JESUS. It is the Name of the Father, it is also the Name of the Son, and also the Name of the Holy Spirit. Now you can understand why we are so powerful against demons when we command them to come out in the Name of Jesus. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12 _ What is the Holy Spirit here to do? Well, as we have established, He came to bring us ability to cause change! Remember we receive power only after the Holy Spirit is come upon us? The disciples had to wait for the Holy Spirit before they can witness for Jesus. Only with the power of God can we be effective witnesses for Him. Let us look closely at the ministry of the Holy Spirit; we will use a scripture we have used before; _ “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever;” John14:16 _ The word we must put focus on here is the word ‘comforter’; it already tells you what the Holy Spirit will do for you, He will comfort you. I could share testimony after testimony of how the Spirit of God comforted me throughout the testing stages of ministry, for ministry has such intense moments where a man of God indeed needs the comfort of the Holy Spirit. The amplified Bible expounds on this word ‘comforter’ even more deeply, thus revealing to us the Ministry of the Holy Spirit: _ “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--” John14:16(Amplified) _ These are the things He will do for you. You see, the Holy Spirit is on your side. Sometimes it’s a tragedy to hear Christians saying ‘The Holy Spirit CONVICTED ME’ or ‘I HAD A CONVICTION FROM THE SPIRIT’! He doesn’t CONVICTus! _ “And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.” John 16:8 (NLT) _ He convicts THE WORLD. Not the Church. To the Church, He is a Comforter, a Counselor, a Helper, an Intercessor, an Advocate, a Strengthener, and a Standby. The Body of Christ needs to understand this! They need to so comprehend the Ministry of the Holy Spirit that it becomes a consciousness! We need to assimilate this into our spirits! Look atthe last one, HE IS YOUR STANDBY! That means He will stand by you even if no one elsewill. Should you need to defend yourself, the Bible says He is your Counselor, your counsel for the defense. This Salvation that God brought to us is the most beautiful thing ever! You must understand that the Lord Jesus is in Heaven, physically. Father God is also in Heaven. The Holy Spirit is here with us as well as in Heaven! Completely comprehending the Person of the Holy Spirit is humanly impossible unless He, the Holy Spirit Himself reveals His Person toyou. The Holy Spirit is here to raise us up Spiritually, the same way He raised Jesus up. He is here to ensure that we become like Father God in character and quality. We can only fail Him if our will refuses to side in with His will.

The Power of God

Some of us are well qualified to speak about the power of God. Mainly because we have been in God's field and helped many that were bound, we set them free using the power of God that is invested in the Name of Jesus. I have personally led many crusades, and in those crusades the Lord showed forth His power tremendously. Never let these man-made viruses and reports mislead you, the Lord still heals people today. He will always heal His people because God is Love. I still remember the testimony of a young girl who had sores all over her head for a very long time and couldn't grow any hair. Her parents were good friends with my friends, and so it happened that when I went to visit my friends, we ended up visiting her family. When we arrived, the little girl came to greet me. I say her condition immediately, and her dad told me what was going on. I prayed for the girl right there, using the authority of the Name of Jesus. Some days later her dad told me that the sores on her head

God With Us

So many times, as children of God, we tend to lose consciousness of His Presence with us. As a result, we find ourselves overwhelmed and defeated by the circumstances of life. I want to remind you that your faith is what overcomes the world. If you do not apply your faith you may not stand a chance against the storms of life. These storms come to everybody, no exceptions. But whenever the winds beat upon you they must find you founded upon The Rock of Ages. I want to share with you a testimony that will help you remember your roots in Christ. It is a tale like no other, and comes from the depths of my heart, and the contents of this tale are true. Some 3 years ago I was in one of those positions where the circumstances of life caved in on me. As a man of Goind, I could in no wise yield that easy for I am loaded with the knowledge of the principles of the Kingdom of God. I had been battling for an entire year with these circumstances, and at that point I was nearing defeat. So I took on

Know Him, and then Serve Him

Often times we find saints rushing into the ministry, maybe because they got a prophecy that they were called into ministry or because they received some vision. Then they go out and pitch their tent and start a church!   But that is not the way of the Lord. Growth in God happens progressively. That is why we run the race with patience. David talked to his son, Solomon and said: _ “ And  thou,  Solomon my  son, know thou the God of thy  father,  and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind”1 Chronicles28:9. _   We need to know God first and then serve him.  How  can you serve a God that you don’t know? How   can you guarantee that your attitude and motive in that service is pure? The Lord Jesus knew that  He  was called from a very young age. He  knew  He  was born the Savior of the world yet  He  didn’t begin his ministry until the age of thirty. What was  He  doing all those years?  He  was learning to walk with God practically. And when the appoint
